Quality Dental Implants in Sudbury and Surrounding Areas

Are you tired of struggling with traditional dentures? Thanks to many advances in dental implant technology over the last 40 years, dental implants have become the preferred alternative to the frustrated denture wearer or those not happy transitioning from natural teeth to dentures.

At Canadian Denture Centre, we provide dental implants for Sudbury residents while ensuring profound patient satisfaction. We aim to offer dental implants that look like natural teeth. To a denture wearer, implants provide excellent stability while helping preserve that precious bone under the gums and keeping the natural look of your face and lips. They are as close as we'll ever get to real teeth in dentistry, and patients often tell us they wish they had received them sooner. So, if you plan to get implants, don’t wait any longer! Contact us today to book a consultation!

Why Choose Dental Implants?

A regular denture rests on the gums and is not supported by implants, causing them to move around, lisp, or hurt when biting hard foods. A dental implant alleviates most painful situations because the denture is secure and doesn't move freely.

Dental Implants are used when a person doesn't have any teeth in the jaw but still has enough bone to support implants. Special attachments are adhered to the implant, allowing the denture to be snapped into place.

We also offer various other denture solutions at our clinic, using professional services from our team. Check out our full, partial, and immediate denture services. Visit us to know more!

Types of Dental Implants

Two types of dental implants are available at our clinic in Sudbury: bar-retained and ball-retained. In both cases, we make the dentures with an acrylic base that looks like gums and has natural-looking acrylic teeth attached to it. Both types of dentures need at least two implants for support, with most patients choosing four or more for superior stability and function.

How to Know If You're a Good Candidate for Dental Implants

Dental implants are a durable and effective solution for replacing missing teeth, but not everyone is a suitable candidate. At Canadian Denture Centre, we assess several factors to determine if dental implants are right for you:

Healthy gums

You should have healthy gums free from advanced gum disease. Gum health is essential to support the implant and prevent complications.

Sufficient bone density

Dental implants' success depends on adequate bone in the jaw to support them. If bone density is insufficient, bone grafting may be required.

Good overall health

Certain health conditions, like uncontrolled diabetes or immune system issues, can affect the success of implants. A thorough medical evaluation helps ensure you're fit for the procedure.

Non-smoking

Smoking can interfere with healing and the fusion of the implant to the bone, so non-smokers typically have better outcomes.

Commitment to oral hygiene

Good oral hygiene is essential to maintain implant health and ensure long-term success.

Age, general health, and proper oral hygiene are crucial in implant success. At Canadian Denture Centre, we strive to provide tailored solutions, even for patients who may not initially meet all criteria. Schedule a consultation to learn more about your options.

The Lifespan of Dental Implants: How Long Do They Last?

Dental implants typically last 10 to 15 years or even longer with proper care. Research shows dental implants have a success rate of 90% to 95% over 10+ years. When placed and cared for correctly, implants can even last a lifetime. However, the crown above the gumline, which experiences daily wear and tear, may need replacing after 15 to 20 years. Your teeth play an essential role in many aspects of life, including eating, speaking, and expressing yourself, contributing to the stress placed on them daily.

Although no dental device is guaranteed to last forever, there are steps you can take to extend the life of your dental implants. Regular dental cleanings and exams, thorough brushing and flossing, and wearing a nightguard if you suffer from bruxism, can all help preserve the function of your implants. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding tobacco, and protecting your teeth during contact sports are essential practices.
